The Gambler

I do not want any questions about the dirt on Kenny Rogers’ palm. If you think it was something else, he washed it off after one and still dominated the rest of the way. Jonesy always makes things a little interesting, but manages to earn a save time and time again. The Tigers are on pace to do it in six…still.

We scrimmaged yesterday and I thought things went well. Our staff tried to make it as gamelike as possible, but there will always be a few parts that are missing. Mainly, referees, large crowds and an unfamiliar team are what we cannot simulate. While we stunk up the gym from a shooting standpoint, I am more concerned with our free throws. As a team, we shot 59% (30-49) from the stripe and that is not very good. One reason may be that we are still not quite in game shape and I do think that this is playing a role.

As we close in on the start of the season, we are beginning fine tune the parts of our team. Each player’s role is starting to take shape and are team is forming their identity. I am pleased that with our progress after ten days, but we must continue to improve.

More soon…
