Another winnable game lost

November 27th, 2006

We lost another tough game to IUPUI. One important aspect to note with our four losses is that three (of the four) took place on our home floor. Young teams are generally better on the road as they feel more pressure at home. While I do not want to be a team of road warriors, we now hit a stretch where we must play very well to win. Starting with SEMO, we then play three NCAA tourney teams in Air Force, Michigan St. and Kent St. We will see what our guys are made of in the next few games.

Thanksgiving and The WIU win

November 23rd, 2006

After a 5-overtime win over Western Illinois on Tuesday and a 7-hour bus trip home, we gave our team Wednesday off and we are practicing tonight (Thanksgiving) at 7pm. Tuesday’s win is significant because a wins a win. But, more importantly, it is our first Mid-Con win. The thrilling victory made our bus trip go a lot faster!

We will now start preparing for Saturday’s matchup with the IUPUI Jaguars, another future conference foe. IUPUI is a very good basketball team, but we are on the fringe of becoming pretty good ourselves. Continuing to improve is our goal.
